HACCP TRACE

Software for Food Traceability

WHAT IS

HACCP TRACE
is a multi platform, open source software (runs on Linux, Mac and Windows) and multi language that helps small and medium businesses keep constantly connected all inbound raw materials with all outbound foods (whether worked or not) based onto European guidelines on food traceability.

Using HACCP TRACE you can:

  • Register a new supplier
  • Register a new customer
  • Register a new entry lot
  • Perform and store controls on each lot in input
  • Create your own food by combining the foods in the acquired lots
  • Create a new lot outbound and connect it to the customer and its invoice
  • Recover, for every food, all its business history and know who, when and how much it was sold.

This software is written in JAVA and it uses SQLite database in order to store data.
This means that you need JRE 1.8 or above in order to run HACCP TRACE on your machine.
Unfortunately this software does NOT work on Windows XP nor in a virtual machine (like VirtualBox).

GUIDE

HACCP TRACE is divided into 8 main functions:

  1. Summary
  2. Suppliers
  3. Inbound lots
  4. Checks
  5. Foods
  6. Customers
  7. Outbound lots
  8. Traceability

The system is based on the typical working flow of foodstuffs, as described below.
Some supplier supplies one or more raw materials in the form of lots. These lots must be checked at the entrance to verify their compliance with what the supplier has stated. Once you have stocked raw materials, you can sell them without changing them or work them to produce other foods. In either case, before you can sell something, you need to have the data of at least one customer to whom selling the goods and you need to divide the food into lots (each consisting of a certain amount of a particular food). Once a lot is sold, the cycle is complete and the system can connect each inbound food to each outbound food and vice versa.

This working flow is represented in 8 functions that you can find on the left of the system.
Below are the various icons with a brief description of the associated functionality.

HOME represents the SUMMARY function that shows a summary of the stored data. Is the boot screen of the system.

TRUCK is the SUPPLIER function that allows you to add, remove and modify data from a supplier.

CUBE with the down arrow represents the LOT IN function that stores all the input lots and the related food items.

BALANCE represents the CHECK function that stores the checks performed on the arrival of the goods.

APPLE represents the FOOD function that allows you to work on foods received from the various suppliers in order to create a new food made up of one or more foods received.

TWO PEOPLE represents the CUSTOMER function that stores all of the company's customers and allows to search, delete, and modify a customer.

CUBE with the upward arrow represents the LOT OUT function that allows you to create a new lot of a certain type of food and sell it to a particular customer.

Lastly, FINDER is the TRACE function that has the main task: connecting every single food purchased to any other food sold.
